Not everyone seemed happy when the flagship BlackBerry Z10 was launched in India for Rs. 43490. While the company is clearly disappointed with the handset sales in the country, it has announced a massive discount on the device, which seems to be a futile attempt to clear existing stocks.
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of BlackBerry’s venture in the Indian market, the company has announced a limited period discount on its flagship BlackBerry Z10 running the latest BlackBerry 10.2.1 OS. The company is offering an unbelievable Rs. 25000 discount on the device for the next 60 days. With the offer, the BlackBerry Z10 would be priced at just Rs. 17990.
This is not the first time that the company has announced a price cut for the BlackBerry Z10. It had earlier offered the 4.2 inch device for Rs. 29999 on the eve of the festive season. However this is the first time that the company has really let its hands loose and made a near 60 percent price cut. This might entice some buyers to give the ultra-cheap BlackBerry flagship a chance.
Speaking about the massive discount, Sunil Lalvani, Managing Director India for BlackBerry said, “BlackBerry has a vast and loyal user base in India and we’re keen to provide these consumers with the unique communication experience that BlackBerry 10 offers. This commemorative offer puts the BlackBerry Z10 at Rs. 17,990/- and will ensure users are able to enjoy the cutting edge experience of a full-touch device combined with a revolutionary operating system – all at an attractive price point.”
