While there have been rumours about a high-end BlackBerry smartphone with 64 bit octa core processor which is expected in September, one of the first low-end handset from the company has been leaked.
The BlackBerry Jakarta, which is the company’s first low-end smartphone that is part of the five year contract with Foxconn, has been leaked. The press renders reveal a handset with squared corners and no particular design aspects. The device features a 5 inch full touch display with resolution of 960 x 540 pixels.
The BlackBerry Jakarta specs reveal that the device would be powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor along with 1.5 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. The handset is equipped with a rear facing 5 MP auto focus camera with 5X digital zoom and LED flash. There is also a front facing 1.1 MP camera. We can expect to see this phone at the upcoming MWC 2014.
