Along with the announcement of the physical full QWERTY Dev Alpha C device for developers at the BlackBerry Jam Asia, Research In Motion (RIM) has also announced the re-branding of its BlackBerry App World.
The BlackBerry App World which is RIM’s app store has been renamed as the “BlackBerry World” and the name-change will come into effect with the official launch of the much-awaited BlackBerry 10 OS.
With the launch of the BlackBerry 10 OS on January 30th 2013, RIM will go on to add videos and music to the App Store and thus the rebranding was indeed necessary to the app store will no longer just contain apps.
The BlackBerry World does sound better too and also gives a whole new feel which is also necessary with the launch of the new OS from the Canadian giant.
