While there have been reports about an high end BlackBerry device with a 64 bit processor coming in 2015, sources claim that we might get to see the handset in the later half of this year.
According to sources, BlackBerry would announce a new device running on a 64 bit processor as early as September 2014. The source stress on the fact that the 64 bit processor is confirmed. Rumours have it that the device would be powered by the upcoming octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8994 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz. The device is also said to have OpenGL 3, which would provide better graphics support.
September does seem a bit early for this 64 bit BlackBerry smartphone, considering that the company is first expected to announce the BlackBerry Ontario which is powered by the Snapdragon 800 processor, though under clocked. However unless the new CEO John Chen has some significant changes in the strategy, there is a high possibility that these devices would follow the path of the Z10.
