BlackBerry has started rolling out a new update for its BlackBerry OS 10 smartphones. The new BlackBerry 10.3.1 update brings a number of features along with the usual bug fixes and stability improvements.
The BlackBerry 10.3.1 update brings the ability to use both the BlackBerry’s app store along with Amazon’s App Store, which will a good number of Android apps for the BlackBerry users. The update also brings a new BlackBerry Blend feature, which works across multiple platforms and lets users do various tasks on multiple devices.
The new update also introduces a host of new shortcuts like you can “T” in the BlackBerry hub to get to the top of the inbox, “B” to get to the bottom, “A” to launch the Address book, “N” to launch BBM, “O” for Settings and more. The update also brings the BlackBerry Assistant, which can be activated with voice or text and you can manage a host of tasks with the Assistant. There’s also a new Meeting Mode in the Calender app. The company claims to have made improvements in battery performance and says, it’ll be boost the battery by 15%.
The update is now rolling out and BB 10 users should get the notification once it’s available for their devices. There will be a notification of software downloading if a user has enabled automatic downloading of updates. The update will be available for a host of BB 10 devices including the BlackBerry Z10, Q5, Q10, Z30, Z3, Porsche Design P’9983 and the BlackBerry Passport.
