We have been hearing about the Blackshark (or is it Black Shark?) smartphone since last month. Blackshark is said to be a gaming smartphone from a brand called Black Shark that Chinese technology company Xiaomi has reportedly invested in. We have already seen this smartphone popping up on benchmarking sites with Snapdragon 845 SoC under the hood, but now, Black Shark has confirmed that this smartphone will indeed be powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC which is Qualcomm’s latest and greatest flagship chip.
Black Shark has shared an image (pictured above) which confirms the presence of Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC under the hood in its smartphone. The image also has a green colored dragon, but apart from that, there’s nothing more in the image to talk about.
Well, as this smartphone is said to be a gaming smartphone, we expect it to be powered by nothing lower than Snapdragon 845 SoC. In fact, we are pretty sure that many of you out there would too love a Snapdragon 845 chip under the hood so that gaming on this smartphone becomes a breeze.
Once launched, this smartphone would be competing with Razer Phone which is also a gaming smartphone that’s powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC which is coupled with 8 GB RAM. It also has dual cameras at the back, a 120 Hz display, and, a 4000 mAh battery.
As far as Black Shark’s gaming smartphone is concerned, past benchmark listings have revealed Snapdragon 845 SoC, 8 GB RAM, Android Oreo, a Full-HD+ display, and, 32 GB of internal storage in tow.
Black Shark has signed an agreement with China’s JD.com for promotions and sales of its gaming smartphone. However, there’s no word on when exactly will it launch this smartphone.
