Micromax subsidiary YU launched the YU Yureka Black in India yesterday. It’s a budget smartphone and is priced at ₹8999. The specifications of the Yureka Black are in line with most of the other smartphones that you would find in this segment, however, the only thing that can be a downer for some is the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow that it runs on. Well, if you were unhappy with that, let us tell you that the device will soon be updated to Android 7.1.2 Nougat as the beta build for this version of Android is now available.
YU has released the Beta Build of Android 7.1.2 Nougat for the Yureka Black on its forums. The Yureka Black currently runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and is yet to go on sale, however, now that the beta build of 7.1.2 Nougat is available, we assume that YU will roll-out the stable release of 7.1.2 to the Yureka Black by the end of this month if everything goes well.
Well, if YU can pull this off successfully, then the Yureka Black will be the only smartphone under the ₹10,000 category to be running the latest version of Android shortly after the launch. Well, YU deserves extra credit for this as there are several smartphones out there which are yet to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update.
