Taiwanese smartphone brand ASUS at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 tech show in Spain unveiled a couple of smartphones under its ZenFone 5 series, namely, the ZenFone 5, ZenFone 5Z, and, the ZenFone 5 Lite. However, amongst all these, ASUS also announced a smartphone that’s not a part of the ZenFone 5 series – the ASUS ZenFone Max (M1).
The ZenFone Max series of smartphones are known for their huge batteries, and, carrying on that legacy, the ASUS ZenFone Max (M1) also comes packed with a 4000 mAh battery which you can also use to charge other devices if needed using the reverse charging feature.
The ASUS ZenFone Max (M1) sports a 5.5-inch display, however, this isn’t the traditional 16:9 display, but, it’s the more modern 18:9 display that’s crammed into a smartphone that would generally have a 5-inch 16:9 display for the same overall footprint.
Well, apart from the huge battery and tall display, another notable feature of the ASUS ZenFone Max (M1) is the dual camera setup at the back which consists of one 13 MP standard camera and one 8 MP 120-degree wide-angle camera. And, for selfies and video calls, you get an 8 MP camera on the front as well.
That said, the ASUS ZenFone Max (M1) is powered by either Snapdragon 425 or Snapdragon 430, which is laced with up to 3 GB RAM. The phone boots up to Android 8.0 Oreo and features a metallic finish back which is also home to the fingerprint scanner.
