ASUS today has launched its latest selfie smartphone ZenFone Live in India in an event held in New Delhi. Aimed at users who love to do live videos on Facebook, Instagram etc. ASUS has introduced BeautyLive app, a real-time beautification technology that works by optimizing the ZenFone Live to ensure that BeautyLive integrates seamlessly with popular streaming apps. When you want to make yourself look even more glamorous, just fire up the BeautyLive app allowing you to removes blemishes and smooths the skin in real-time.
According to ASUS, “the Zenfone Live is the world’s first smartphone with hardware-optimised, real-time beautification technology that makes it possible to share an even more glamorous version of yourself, live!” This comes handy when you live stream on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and other social media apps.
The phone has a 5 MP f/2.2 wide-angle selfie camera with Soft-light LED flash for natural skin tones. The company claims that the camera has 2x light sensitivity with 1.4um pixels. The phone also features a built-in dual MEMS microphones that remove background noise which is useful when you are live streaming. On the rear side, there’s a 13 MP f/2.0 PixelMaster camera with again soft-light LED flash. The rear camera also supports the real-time beautification.
Aside from the camera, the phone includes a 5-inch IPS HD screen, 1.4 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8926), 2 GB LPDDR3 RAM, and a 2,650 mAh non-removable battery. It comes in two storage variants, 16 GB, and 32 GB. A 100 GB of Google Drive storage is provided for free (2 years). The storage can be expanded up to 128 GB. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with ZenUI on top and supports dual SIM 4G LTE network with VoLTE support.
