ASUS is going to launch its new ZenFone 5 series this MWC 2018, the company is teasing the launch with a hashtag #BACKTO5. The ZenFone 5 series is going to be unveiled on 27th February 2018 at the event, however, weeks before the launch, a mysterious smartphone from the ASUS ZenFone 5 series surfaces online.
As per the leaked manual, which bears the model number “ASUS XOOPD” has been reported as ASUS ZenFone 5. The design aesthetics suggest that the phone will be having an 18:9 display with curved edges and exposed antenna lines. In addition to the design, it appears to be using a metallic unibody.
The rear side shows dual-camera setup which seems to the main highlight of the phone followed by the Infinity Display. The dual cameras are placed vertically as seen on iPhone X. That’s not new to it, the previous ZenFone 4 series already had dual cameras in it, even dual front cameras in its Selfie series.
According to the Geekbench results, the phone will be powered by a 1.4 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC. Other expected specifications include a 3 GB RAM, 4,000 mAh battery, and running on Android Oreo operating system.
ASUS will be launching 3 smartphones in the ZenFone 5 series and will be live at MWC 2018. Are you excited?
