Last week, we came across a sketch of the ASUS ZenFone 5 that gave us an idea of what this smartphone might look like. Now, we are having a look at yet another smartphone from ASUS that has surfaced online – it’s the ASUS ZenFone 5 Lite.
An image of the ASUS ZenFone 5 Lite (attached above) has been leaked online by the ever so reliable leakster Evan Blass. Apart from leaking the image of the ZenFone 5 Lite, Blass also shared some details about the camera and the screen on this smartphone.
According to Blass, the ASUS ZenFone 5 Lite comes with quad cameras – two each on the front and back. The dual camera setup at the back is a combination of two 16 MP cameras, whereas, the dual camera setup on the front consists of two 20 MP cameras. Well, this probably means that ASUS will advertise the ZenFone 5 Lite as a selfie-centric smartphone.
That said, the display on the ASUS ZenFone 5 Lite will have an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. Although Blass didn’t chime in about the size of the display, some reports suggest that it will be somewhere between 5.7 and 6 inches.
Apart from this, Blass didn’t reveal any other details, however, you can see from the image above that the ZenFone 5 Lite a fingerprint scanner at the back below the dual camera setup, and, there’s a LED flash at the front which would help you take brighter selfies in low light.
Furthermore, there’s a 3.5 mm headphone jack up top, and, a USB port at the bottom flanked by speaker and microphone grilles. However, it’s unclear whether that’s a micro USB port or a Type-C port. We wish it turns out to be the latter.
ASUS is expected to launch the ZenFone 5 later this month at MWC, hence, we might see this Taiwanese company launching the ZenFone 5 Lite as well at the same event alongside some other smartphones in the ZenFone 5 series.
