With the Zenfone series becoming quite popular in India, Asus has started rolling out the Android KitKat update for the handsets in the series.
Asus has started rolling out the Android KitKat v4.4.2 update for the Zenfone 4 (A400CG), ZenFone 5 (A500/A501CG) and ZenFone 6 (A600/A601CG) smartphones in India. The update, weighing 456.62 MB, is being rolled out to users Over-the-Air (OTA) in a phased manner and is expected to reach all users by the weekend.
The Android KitKat v4.4.2 update for the Zenfone smartphones adds new features like call blocking, video effects or filters, full dual standby with two SIM cards. There is a Do Not Disturb mode and also an Extended Easy Mode which has the Contacts, Call Log, Dialer and Messaging apps adapted for improved readability. The ASUS ZenUI Launcher is updated with notifications of missed calls, unread e-mails and unread messages from VIP contacts.
Speaking about the Android KitKat v4.4.2 update for the Zenfone smartphones, Peter Chang, Regional Head – South Asia & Country Manager – System Business Group – ASUS India said, “Our users have been eagerly awaiting the android update and we are extremely elated to announce its upgradation at this time of the year.
