Google announced its latest iteration of its mobile platform, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, last month and has made all the handset makers pull up their socks once again.
While Samsung, HTC, LG and Motorola have confirmed that they will be bringing the update to their devices, we are hearing that Asus has also made an official statement.
Asus has confirmed that the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update will be available, but only a few selected Transformer devices. So for now the Asus Transformed Pad, Asus Transformer Pad Prime and Asus Transformer Pad Infinity are the prime candidates that will receive the official update. Here’s the official statement:
“We are pleased to announce that we will be updating many of our tablet products to Android 4.1, Jelly Bean. The ASUS Transformer Pad, ASUS Transformer Pad Prime and ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity are all scheduled to receive an update to Jelly Bean in the coming months. We are still investigating Jelly Bean updates for other devices, but we are not in a position to confirm whether any other products will be eligible for an update at the moment.”
