Now that Android 6.0 Marshmallow has been released, all the OEMs are now trying to catch up with this update and announcing the list of their devices that will be receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Asus is the latest to join the clan, they have listed out devices on their forums which are going to receive the Marshmallow update.
Here’s the list of devices that are going to receive the Android Marshmallow update:
- PadFoneS (PF500KL)
- ZenFone2 (ZE550ML/ZE551ML)
- ZenFone2 Deluxe / Special Edition (ZE551ML)
- ZenFone2 Laser (ZE500KG/ZE500KL/ZE550KL/ZE600KL/ZE601KL)
- ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL)
No, don’t start jumping with joy after seeing your device name in the list, it’s important you look at the model number, as that’s what you need to look out for. For instance, for the model number ZE551ML there are two devices, the ZenFone2 Deluxe and the ZenFone2 Special Edition. Whereas, there are 5 different variants under the name of ZenFone2 Laser, the model numbers are ZE500KG, ZE500KL, ZE550KL, ZE600KL and ZE601KL.
There’s no word from Asus regarding the dates for the roll-out of Android Marshmallow update so expect these devices to receive the update anytime next year.
