Remember the $99 Nexus tablet which was expected to launch anytime soon? Well, ASUS has announced the launch of the ‘MeMo Pad’ which has been priced at $149 in the US. The tablet arrives with a 7-inch display and the design does go on to match that of the Google Nexus 7 tablet.
The tablet is powered by 1 GHz VIA WM8950 processor which is coupled with 1 GB RAM and the tablet arrives in 8 GB and 16 GB storage flavors which can be expanded to up to 32 GB via microSD card.
The 7-inch display on the MeMo Pad arrives with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and is LED backlit with 140-degree wide viewing angle and 350-nits brightness. The MeMo Pad runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and packs in a front facing 1MP back-illuminated sensor, f/2.0, with 720p HD video capture at 30fps.

Asus will start selling the $149 tablet in the US from this month in three color options: Sugar White, Titanium Gray, Cherry Pink. There is no information about the tablet reaching in other markets and at what price will Asus sell the 16 GB version.
