Asus along with Intel, today announced the Asus Fonepad, which was launched at the Mobile World Congress, for Indian markets. The Fonepad which has a 7 inch display can also be used to make calls, thus combining the features of a smartphone with the versatility of a tablet.
The Asus Fonepad, with its sleek metallic design, is powered by a 1.2 GHz Intel Atom Z2420 with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. The tablet also is equipped with two cameras, a 3 MP primary camera and a 1.2 MP front facing camera.
The device runs on the Android Jelly Bean OS and has an enormous 4270 mAh battery support. Asus claims that the device is ideal for people who value both the voice communication features of a smartphone and the entertainment opportunities offered by a tablet but prefer to carry just one device.
The Asus Fonepad is priced at Rs 15999 and would be available at retail outlets starting April 30.
