Ever since Android Wear was announced, a multitude of brands has jumped on-board the smartwatch bandwagon. The Asus’ smartwatch endeavor has been on the charts for long, but it might finally see the light of the day at IFA 2014.
Asus’ CEO Jerry Shen has candidly stated to Focus Taiwan,”We’re dreaming big about the future of wearable devices, but the dream will not come true this year or in the first half of next year, because the market demand has not picked up.”
The Asus smartwatch it seems, has already impressed Google, which announced that Asus was one of its partners in the Android Wear platform, at the Google I/O event earlier this year. It seems that Asus might have an attractive smartwatch under its wings. In addition to that, it might also be priced better than the current wearables from leading manufacturers such as LG and Samsung. As far as the pricing is concerned, the Asus Android Wear might be priced between $99 to $149, unlike, say, the LG G Watch, which is priced at $199.
Not only Asus, but Motorola is also coming out with a stylish smartwatch – the Moto 360. HTC also might be coming out with a smartwatch soon.
