Most Apple products have always been received with some good response and apparently, the new Apple Watch is no exception. The Apple Watch went on pre-order last Friday and reportedly, the smartwatch managed around 1 million pre-orders on its first day.
The report comes from Slice Intelligence, a research company, which has revealed a few details around the first day of Apple Watch sales. To be more exact, the report states 957,000 have taken the plunge of the very first Apple Watch. The Apple Watch will be available to the pre-buyers starting April 24.
For comparison’s sake, only 720,000 Android Wear devices shipped last year and Apple seems to have surpassed the number easily in a single day.
The report also reveals details around which Apple Watch variant was preferred. The most affordable Apple Watch Sports model was the most popular, with 62% buyers taking one. In the Apple Watch Sports category, the Black found most buyers with 64%, 22% went for the White version, 6% for Blue and 4% for Green and Pink.
While the Apple Watch is decent, it’s nothing revolutionary but the Apple brand seems to have done the trick here. The good start might result a boom in smartwatch sales and it’ll be interesting to see if the Apple Watch manages to keep the momentum going.
