Considering the Cult of Mac report , Apple may be hiring an App Store developer to improve push notification service. The Push Notifications is the only area where Apple needs to improve. The Push Notifications are very well managed by the Android and then WebOS. As far as history of Apple is concerned , they released ‘COPY PASTE’ in iOS 3.0 , ‘MULTITASKING’ in iOS 4.0 and we guess that next major release will be the improvement in ‘PUSH NOTIFICATIONS’ service in iOS 5.
According to report by Cult of Mac :
“Our source, who asked to remain anonymous, didn’t know the identity of the company, except it already has an iPhone app in the App Store. One candidate is Boxcar, a free app from Appremix that enables push notifications for Twitter, Facebook, and email. Boxcar’s system has been highly praised, especially the new iPad version.”
Boxcar is one of the best known clients for push notification. It is a third party client and not implemented in OS itself. Anyways , we hope that Apple should come out with a better way of experiencing push notifications with iOS 5.0 in the next coming months.
