After months of leaks and rumours we finally know how and what the iPhone 5 arrives with. But last night Tim Cook also went on to throw some light on some statistics which are mind-boggling.
Like for an example 17 million iPads were sold between the months of April to June earlier this year and 83 million iPads were sold through June and Apple has sold 400 million iOS devices till the end of June 2012. More stats after the break!
Apple also told us that iPad held 62 percent of tablet market a year ago and today it has risen to 68 percent worldwide. Also 91 percent of all the Web traffic from tablets comes from iPad.
Coming to the apps, Apple has unveiled that now there are 700,000 apps in the iTunes App Store and 250,000 are specifically for the iPad. Also 90 percent of the apps in the App Store are downloaded every month and an average customer as 100 of them.
Apple now has 380 Apple Stores in 12 countries and a new Apple Store is scheduled to open in Sweden today which will make the presence of the Apple Store spread to 13 countries. Also Apple’s retail stores collectively had some 83 million visitors last quarter which is nearly 1 million people per day.
So these are some interesting stats from the Cupertino based giant and now that the iPhone 5 is going to be available from September 21st the numbers of devices sold in the present quarter is bound to see a huge leap.
