Apple, which is very much possessed with its trademark, got disappointed when the authorities in the US denied it the trademark for the term iPad Mini. But Apple still hasn’t given up hope and will try to attain the trademark.
According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the iPad Mini is merely descriptive and may be misunderstood by the public. The authorities claim that Apple is asking for exclusive rights to the word mini, which may be used by other companies to describe their goods.
According to the authorities, Apple’s application for the trademark of iPad Mini fails to create a unique, incongruous, or non-descriptive meaning in relation to the goods being small handheld mobile devices comprising tablet computers capable of providing internet access.
But Apple now has time till July to convince the authorities that its claim for the trademark of iPad Mini is valid.
