Apple is one company that claims to be adding a lot of new and innovate features in their devices. While they are regularly awarded new patents including the patent for stylus, todays patent bears a slightly extra significance.
The USPTO has awarded two new patents to Apple for interchangeable mobile camera lenses. The first patent allows interchangeable macro lenses for the camera by changing the removable panel on the back plate. However given that it requires additional panels on the back panel, it is highly unlikely that this feature would ever come to the iPhone.
Interestingly, the second patent is a camera add-on that connects with both a physical locking mechanism similar to a DSLR lens as well as a magnetic component, thus ensuring proper attachment. While this could be seen on an Apple device, it is more likely to be shown as an effective accessory rather than part of the device itself.
