While Google had just released the Android v4.4.3 KitKat update a few days ago, it has released a more stable release with fixes to some issue that were reported for the previous update.
Google has released the factory images of the Android KitKat v4.4.4 for the Nexus 4. The Nexus 5, the Nexus 7 and the Nexus 10. The update was mainly released to provide fixes to some minor vulnerability found in OpenSSL for the previous version. Being a complete security update, it is highly unlikely to see any other enhancement including UI.
Currently the factory images of the Android KitKat v4.4.4 are available for the Nexus 4. The Nexus 5, the Nexus 7 (Wi-Fi only) and the Nexus 10 devices only. They are also being pushed over the air for these device. The other devices like the Google Play Edition device are expected to get the update soon thereafter. What is interesting is if other companies like Moto, which is currently rolling out the Android v4.4.3 update, would instead start rolling out the new update.
