Google announced Android O back in March this year, and along with it, Google also released its first developer preview. Later on, Google released the second developer preview of Android O last month at its I/O 2017 conference. Well now, the company has released the third developer preview of O for compatible Nexus and Pixel devices.
The third developer preview of Android O comes with final APIs of this OS which would allow developers to start testing their apps with Android O. This would also help them prepare their apps for Android O when it’s finally released and also improve their app performance while driving more engagement.
For those unaware, Android O comes with features like picture-in-picture (PiP) mode, autofill APIs, adaptive icons, notification channels and dots, and much more. Besides, Android O is now also confirmed to be Android 8.0. However, there’s no information as to what O would stand for. Is it Oreo? Well, you never know.
The Android O Developer Preview 3 is available for Nexus Player, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Pixel C, Pixel and Pixel XL. If you have any of these devices and are enrolled in the beta program, you will receive the developer preview 3 in the form of OTA. If not, you can flash the update manually.
