Every year at the Google I/O Developer Conference, Google showcases the preview of the next version of Android. However, this time surprisingly, the company has released the preview of the Android N version before the conference.
Google has announced the release of the Android N Developer Preview, which is the next major Android version. The new version adds quite a few new features including Multi-window support, Notification enhancements, Data Saver, Background optimizations, Direct boot, TV Recording, partial support for more than 100 new languages and locales.
However, the Android N Developer Preview is currently available only for the latest Nexus devices which include the Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Nexus 9, and Pixel C. Google has also initiated a new Android Beta Program, which would enable these users to receive the latest Android N updates over-the-air (OTA), without having to use a new factory image every time. The stable release of Android N is expected to be available in Q3 2016.
