There was a lot of controversy regarding the Android KitKat promotion winners in India as the winners received the older Nexus 7 2012 model tablet while winners in the rest of the world got the newer Nexus 7 tablet and when asked about it KitKat gave a pretty lame excuse “We hear you’re unhappy. Winners got the Nexus7 tabs available in India in Sept (contest date). The new version launched only in Nov.” but now they have done a u-turn as they have announced through their Facebook account that the winners in India will be getting the newer Nexus 7 2013 model indeed like the rest of the world.
The winners who have already received the Nexus 7 2012 tablet can get their device replaced with the newer Nexus 7 2013. This is surely the right way to go and we are glad KitKat and Google got this sorted out.
