The Android 7.0 Nougat update, which was released by Google last August, is now being rolled out to the ZenFone 3 Deluxe by ASUS.
The ZenFone 3 Deluxe was unveiled last May by ASUS and was running Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Now that the ZenFone 3 Deluxe is receiving the 7.0 Nougat update, it will new features as well like multi-window, improved Doze, direct reply and more. This update, which brings Android 7.0 Nougat to the ZenFone 3 Deluxe, carries version number V22.40.26.43 and is currently only being rolled out to the units carrying model number ZS550KL, which is the US variant.
Even though this update brings the Nougat goodness to the ZenFone 3 Deluxe, ASUS has done away with some stuff. To start with, ASUS has removed Share Link from this update, an app for sharing files across devices. ASUS has also removed Audio Wizard, Splendid, System update and Flashlight from the apps menu.
Apart from that, ASUS has also removed PC Suite, ShakeShake (from ZenMotion) and some live wallpapers from the update. The update is rolled out over the air and should reach your device within a week, however, if you don’t get an update notification till then, you can check for the update manually by heading to the Settings > About > System update menu.
Like we said, for now, the update is only being rolled out the ZenFone 3 Deluxe units in the US, however, we expect ASUS to roll out the Nougat update in other regions soon.
