Exactly a month ago, Google announced that Android N will be called Android Nougat. The first developer preview of Android Nougat was released in March whereas the final developer preview was rolled out last week. Google said that it will roll out Android Nougat to the public in late summer, however, we now have information that Android Nougat will be released next month.
Prominent and reliable leakster Evan Blass, also know as @evleaks has just revealed that Google will be releasing Android 7.0 Nougat next month. He also added that the update will come along with August security patch.
Further, he also provided information which will be disappointing to the Nexus 5 owners. The Nexus 5 will not be receiving Android 7.0 Nougat update. Well, this shouldn’t be much of a surprise as Google already made it clear that there would be no guaranteed Android version updates to Nexus 5 after October 2015. Well, we have already moved past that date.
This was expected because Nexus 5 did not get Android N Developer Preview as well. This is what Evan Blass tweeted “Android 7.0 releases next month, with the 8/5 security patch. Sorry Nexus 5 owners, no Nougat for you“.
Android 7.0 Nougat will bring with it some cool new features like Multi-Window Support, Direct Reply, new folder preview style and more. We are eagerly waiting for the release of Android 7.0 Nougat. Are you?
