After a lot of speculations, Google has finally made Android 5.1 official. The latest iteration, Android 5.1 Lollipop will make its way to Android One smart phones in the coming few weeks making these phones to be one of the first devices running the latest update.
Android 5.1 Lollipop will surely bring bug fixes and performance improvements to the table but it is still unclear as to what the exact change log will be. Up till now the official site only mentions that Android Lollipop will make Android One devices deliver faster performance and generate a better battery life.
Android One was introduced for those wanting an entry level smart phone with snappy performance, timely updates and a rich android experience. Google released three Android One smart phones in India namely Karbonn Sparle V, Micromax Canvas A1 and Spice Dream Uno. These devices had similar specifications and their firmware was directly controlled by Google. These smart phones had very little bloatware loaded and were very reasonably priced.
Even though Android One smart phones were not game changers in terms of sales, we at least know that Google is still keeping its commitment by providing software updates for these smart phones. The change log hasn’t been provided by Google yet and is expected soon. We will be sure to update you as soon as there are more developments.
