While the latest version, the Android v4.4 KitKat was recently released, Google has already started pushing out the first update for the version.
Google has officially released the Android 4.4.1, which is mainly focussed on improving camera performance. With the new update, the camera app will launch faster, autofocus is faster, colours and exposure have been improved, and there is also a new progress bar when shooting an HDR+ photo. Other than that, there are also bug fixes.
While the Android 4.4.1 update is rolling Over the Air, the update is also available directly from the Google servers for the Nexus 5, the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 7 (2013 edition LTE version only). The device needs to be running the stock version of Android 4.4 for the update. However the camera improvements are currently available only for the Nexus 5. The Nexus 7 (Wi-Fi only) and the Nexus 10 are expected to receive the update soon.
