So after all the hype and rumours Google unveiled its next version of Android OS, Ice Cream Sandwich. And we all know that all future Android based devices will carry the ICS, but what about the old devices? Well, Google’s Gabe Cohen has confirmed that the Nexus S will definitely get the ICS. Also Matias Duarte feels that most Gingerbread devices will see an upgrade and said, “Currently in the process for releasing Ice Cream Sandwich for Nexus S. Theoretically should work for any 2.3 device.”
Unfortunately the Nexus One is not going to taste the ICS anytime soon as there are no plans for it on the cards yet. Though there is no clear date or timeframe as to when the Ice Cream Sandwich will be available for Android 2.3 users but not to worry, we’ll keep you informed.
