While there were quite a few rumours about the upcoming Amazon tablet, the company has now officially launched the Amazon Fire tablet.
Amazon has announced the launch of the Amazon Fire tablet, which is the company claims to be two times more durable than the latest generation iPad Air as measured in tumble tests and has 2 times more processing power than Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite. The tablet has a 7 inch display with resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The device is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad core processor with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage.
The Amazon Fire tablet has a small 2 MP rear facing auto focus camera. There is also a front facing VGA camera. The device runs on the latest Fire OS which is based on Android Lollipop version. The tablet is priced at just $49.99 and comes with the Amazon Underground app store that offers over $10,000 worth apps, games and in-app items for free, including extra lives, unlocked levels and unlimited add-on packs.
