Reports coming in from Digitimes, are suggesting that after the success of the 7 inch Kindle Fire, Amazon is planning to launch a bigger version of the Kindle Fire which will have a size of 8.9 inches in the Q2 of 2012.
Previously it was being said that Amazon was planning to go in for a tablet sized either 9.7 inch or 10.1 inch but then changed its mind to avoid the competition from Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
This news comes straight from the sources within the supply change and also goes on to confirm that Foxconn will remain the Original Design Manufacturer and is scheduled to build the device in the middle of Q2 of 2012. It is also being said that Foxconn Electronics will become a second ODM of 7-inch Kindle Fire next to Quanta Computer and start production in the first quarter of 2012, according to supply chain makers for Amazon.
It’ll be interesting to see how well the 8.9 inch Kindle Fire is received by the consumers.
