While we did have some reports about the refreshed version of Amazon Kindle Fire tablet, the company has launched two new tablets besides the refreshed version.
Amazon has announced the upgraded version of the Kindle Fire HD along with two new tablets, the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 and the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX, both of which are in the high end range. All the tablets also feature the newly released Fire OS 3.0 Mojito which is based on the Android Jelly Bean OS.
The new version of the Amazon Kindle Fire HD has a 1.5 GHz dual core processor, against the earlier 1.2 GHz processor, supported by 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. It however maintains the 7 inch display with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution besides the overall design of the tablet. The tablet is priced amazingly low at $139, which is currently lower than even the Google Nexus 7.
While the refreshed version had minor updates, what would really make eyes roll are the other two new tablets added to the Kindle Fire line. The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 tablet has a massive 8.9 inch display with a very high resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, which results in nearly 339 ppi. To add more fire, the tablet is powered by the superfast quad core Snapdragon 800 processor running at 2.2 GHz with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage.
The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 tablet also has the Adreno 330 GPU. The device has a rear facing 8 MP camera besides a front facing 720p HD camera. The tablet is said to have battery life of nearly 12 hours on continuous use. The device is priced at $379 but the 4G LTE enabled version would cost $479.
Similarly, the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX tablet is also powered by the powerful 2.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 800 processor along with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The device has a smaller 7 inch display with a good 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution. The tablet is equipped with a front facing 720p HD camera and has a close 11 hours of battery life. The device is priced at $229 but the 4G LTE enabled version would cost $329.
