We have come across some alleged leaked pictures thanks to XDA member iRimas of what is said to be the Xperia Z1’s successor. Xperia Z2 or whatever Sony plans to call it has been in rumors for some time now with its codename ‘Sirius’ popping around the rumor mills and now we have some pictures which are supposedly the Xperia Z2.
The leaked Sony smartphone in the pictures has a model number D6503 and it has a 5.2-inch display as it has been rumored for a while now. We don’t know about the internals yet but we should know soon and the camera is the same 20.7 MP unit as found on the Xperia Z1.
There’s Android 4.3 on-board along with a new UI from Sony and according the leakster the build is not stable and is crashing all the time but we should get a look at the new UI soon from the same XDA member who has brought us these pictures.
The differences from the Z1 are that the device features narrower bezels which is nice considering we have always complained of the huge bezels in Sony devices and then there are three speaker grills at the bottom of the device. There’s the usual camera button, magnetic pin connectors, headphone jack, power button and the notification LED is placed above the earpiece. On the left we can see the SIM tray and microUSB slots and on the right the microSD slot. Check out the all the leaked pictures below:
We can expect the device to be unveiled at MWC next month so there’s not a long time to wait and we are quite sure we’ll get more details on the device from the aforementioned XDA member.
