In a bid to counter Reliance Jio, telecom operator Bharti Airtel – often referred to as Airtel – has launched quite a few plans for its prepaid customers that come bundled with data and voice call benefits having a validity of 28 days to 90 days. However, Airtel has now launched a new prepaid plan that comes with a validity of 180 days – that is six months.
Airtel has launched a new plan for its prepaid customers that’s priced at ₹995. For ₹995, Airtel prepaid customers are offered unlimited local and STD voice calls, free roaming calls, 100 free SMS per day, and, 1 GB of 3G/4G data per month which translates to a total of 6 GB of data.
However, it’s worth noting that while other prepaid plans from Airtel do come with a daily and weekly limit on free voice calls, the ₹995 prepaid plan actually comes with unlimited voice call benefits – meaning you can talk as much as you want.
That said, there’s another Airtel plan priced at ₹999 for prepaid customers which also offers unlimited local and STD voice calls, free roaming calls and 100 free SMS per day, but, the amount of 3G/4G data offered is 60 GB and the validity is 90 days.
In comparison, Reliance Jio also has prepaid plans that come with a validity of 90 and 180 days. The former is priced at ₹999 with the latter being priced at ₹1999. For ₹999, Jio prepaid customers get “truly unlimited” local and STD voice calls, 100 free SMS per day, access to Jio apps, and, 60 GB of 4G data without any daily FUP limit.
On the other hand, for ₹1999, Jio prepaid customers are offered similar benefits, except that the amount of 4G data offered is 125 GB.
Well, coming back to Airtel’s ₹995 prepaid plan, it’s good for those who don’t have heavy data usage, but,do talk a lot over phone calls. For other Airtel prepaid customers, the ₹509 plan should suffice as it comes with free local and STD voice calls as well as 1.4 GB of 3G/4G data per day for 90 days.
