A week ago, Indian telecom operator Bharti Airtel – often referred to as Airtel – revised its Infinity Postpaid Plans to offer more benefits to its postpaid customers. Now, the telco has revised its tariff plan priced at ₹93 for prepaid customers. This plan was first announced in late December last year.
Until now, Airtel prepaid customers doing a recharge of ₹93 were offered unlimited local and STD voice calls, free roaming, 100 free local and national SMS per day, and, 1 GB of 3G/4G data for a period of 10 days.
Now, Airtel has revised this tariff plan priced at ₹93 for prepaid customers, and, is now offering unlimited local and STD voice calls, free roaming, 100 free local and national SMS per day, and 1 GB of 3G/4G data for 28 days.
However, prepaid customers can only do a recharge of this plan from Airtel’s website. Moreover, this plan is currently only available to select users in select circles like Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. For others, the plan is available with validity of 10 days instead of 28.
Having said, Airtel with its ₹93 prepaid plan tries to compete with Reliance Jio’s prepaid plan priced at ₹98. For ₹98, Jio prepaid customers are offered unlimited local and STD voice calls, free roaming, 300 free local and national SMS, complimentary subscription to Jio apps, and, 2 GB of 4G data for 28 days.
So, as you can see, while Jio is offering more data under ₹100, Airtel is offering more SMS, and, we are pretty much sure that anyone would prefer more data over SMS on any given day. What do you think?
