With the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 launching in September, all companies are trying hard to bring their own devices to throw in a strong fight against the smartphone giant.
According to an allegedly official Acer roadmap, the company plans on launching the Acer Liquid S2, codenamed Hemingway, in this August. The device is expected to feature a big 5.98 inch full HD display. The phablet is said to be powered by a 2.3 GHz quad core processor, which could very well be the superfast Snapdragon 800 SoC. The device would have 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB internal storage.
Here is where it gets interesting, the Liquid S2 is said to run on the K OS, which could possibly reference the Android v5.0 Key Lime Pie. With the Android v4.3 just released, it is highly unlikely we could get to see a device running Android 5.0 this August, could be in the next August. Also the Acer Liquid S1, which was just released in June, hasn’t even entered the markets, thus raising doubts whether the company would launch another device in August.
Expected specs of the Acer Liquid S2:
- 5.98 inch display
- 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution
- 2.3 GHz quad core Snapdragon 800 processor
- 2 GB RAM
- 16 GB internal memory
- K OS
