The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013 has commenced today and one of the expected launches at the event is the 7-inch Android 4.1 Jelly Bean running Acer Iconia B1 tablet. The Iconia B1 has leaked several times and even appeared on the official website of Acer.
And now, a Bulgarian blog Tablet.bg has allegedly got its hands on a prototype of the Acer Iconia B1 and posted pictures, performance benchmarks and specifications of the tablet.
The 7-inch Iconia B1 is expected to be launched with a cheap $99 price tag so we do not expect the specs of the tablet to be much great but they seem to be decent enough. The tablet weighs 308 grams which is the same weight as that of the Apple iPad Mini.
Going by the specifications, the Acer Iconia B1 packs in:
- 7-inch capacitive screen
- Display resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels
- 1.2 GHz dual-core MediaTek 8317 processor
- 512 MB RAM
- PowerVR SGX 531 GPU
- 8GB Internal memory
- Expandable via microSD slot
- VGA front facing camera
- Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS
- Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS
- 10Wh battery
We have already heard a rumor which suggests that Acer might launch this cheap tablet in India for Rs.7,999 by January-end, which if turns out to be true, will challenge loads of Indian manufacturers’ Android tablets.
For now, let us wait for an official confirmation from Acer on the Iconia B1 and we’ll share more with you as we hear more from the Taiwanese giant.
