We all know that the current range of Windows Phone 7.5 smartphones will not get the much awaited Windows Phone 8 upgrade and will have to settle for a minor yet important Windows Phone 7.8 OS update.
And today Nokia has taken up the case and reassured its current Nokia Lumia smartphone owners as to what all features and exclusives the company has in store for them.
Just last week the company released Nokia City Lens, which makes exploring surroundings more intuitive for its Nokia Lumia 710, Lumia 800 and Lumia 900. Nokia Counters have also been made available for the Lumia series which helps you keep an eye on your phone usage
Cinemagraph and Smart Group Shot along with a few additional surprises will be released very soon. And not to forget, Nokia is bringing Bluetooth file transfer to the Lumia devices which will enable users to transfer files over Bluetooth from one device to another.
Additionally new features for all Lumia devices will include:
- A new Start screen look and feel, familiar with Windows Phone 8, giving you a whole new look the moment you unlock your phone
- Ringtone maker app to selected markets to create a personal ringtone
- Contact share app updated to support sharing over Bluetooth in addition to SMS and email
Also Zynga’s smash hit games Draw Something and Words with Friends, new apps from Bloomberg, WhatsApp, Groupon and a whole lot more are on its way!
The roll-out of these updates for the Lumia 610, Lumia 710, Lumia 800 and Lumia 900 smartphones will be in a phased manner and Nokia will share more details on it as we near the availability.
