Soon after launching the Redmi Note 3, Xiaomi now seems to be getting ready with the Redmi 3, which is the next iteration of the popular affordable smartphone series.
A mysterious Xiaomi smartphone with metal unibody design was spotted at TENAA during certification. Interestingly, the handset has a build quite similar to the Redmi Note 3 but with a slightly smaller display, which indicates that this could be the upcoming affordable Redmi 3. While the design is quite similar, the absence of the fingerprint scanner on the Redmi 3 is quite prominent.
Sources reveal that the Xiaomi Redmi 3 would have a 5 inch HD display and would be powered by the octa core Snapdragon 617 processor with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. Also expected is a 13 MP primary camera and a front facing 5 MP camera. Interestingly, the device packs in the same 4000 mAh battery. We can expect the handset to be unveiled during the Chinese New Year in February 2016.
