With the increasing popularity amongst smartphone users, Opera has updated the Opera Web Browser with new features.
Opera has announced the release of the latest and improved version of the Opera Browser for Android and Opera Mini for Android. The updated versions include many new features video compression, installable web apps, better downloads and improved tab switching. Other than that, there are various other UI, stability and usability improvements.
The video compression for Opera for Android shrinks the size of online videos thus consuming lesser data and requiring lesser time to buffer. To enable the feature, users need to go to the Settings menu and go to Data Savings and click the box next to Video Compression.
Speaking about the latest update, Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera, said, “To grow our Android user-base from 140 million to 275 million users by 2017, we are dedicated to introducing features that give a superior user experience. The strong line-up of features with the introduction of the new and fresh Opera logo, is a milestone in our aggressive growth path in the Android market.”
