Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform has been defined by the Nokia (now Microsoft) hardware with other makers not showing much of an interest. Well, LG might return to the Windows platform soon, as traces of a LG Windows Phone device have just showed up.
The LG smartphone known by the model number LG VW820 has popped on LG’s very own website. There are a couple of listings of the device, which confirm that South Korean maker is indeed working on a new Windows Phone smartphone.
The LG Windows Phone device has been in the rumor mills for some time now, with an ad network revealing the existence of the device last year. Now, we also have the Bluetooth certification of the device.
According to previous rumors, the device will pack in some modest specs including a 4.7-inch display of WVGA (800x480p) resolution. The listing on the LG’s website say the device is running “Windows Phone”, so it might arrive before Windows 10 hits the market. The device has been in the works for quite some time now, so it won’t be surprising if things have changed.
The LG VW820 is also said be launching on US carrier’s Verizon, when it does officially launches. Well, as always, we’ll let you know when LG finally launches a new Windows Phone device after what seems like ages.
