Recently there were reports about Xiaomi discontinuing the sale of the Mi 3 in India. However now the company plans on getting the handsets back in the market.
Manu Jain, CEO of Xiaomi India, revealed that the very popular Xiaomi Mi 3 would be available for purchase in India during the Diwali season. While the sale would be like the previous flash sales through Flipkart, we are unable to get a word on the expected sale date or even the number of units that would be put on sale.
Hugo Barra, VP of Xiaomi Global, has mentioned that the company has set targets to sell as many as 1 lakh Xiaomi phone during the Diwali season. This would include both the Mi 3 and the Redmi 1s. The company has apparently already sold 95000 Mi 3 units and 1 lakh Redmi 1s units with another 60000 Redmi 1S handsets expected to be sold at the next flash sale scheduled on September 30.
