Xiaomi recently announced the Mi3 flagship in India at a very affordable price making great waves in the industry and we expected the company to launch more smartphones today and well, that’s happened. The company has just announced another device, the Xiaomi Redmi 1s at a stunningly affordable price of Rs. 6,999. You need to take a look at the specs of the device to believe that the price is stunning indeed.
The Redmi 1s features a 4.7-inch HD (1280x720p) IPS display and it’s powered by Qualcomm’s Quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.6 GHz with Adreno 305 GPU. There’s 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage with microSD expansion up to 64 GB.
There’s an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 1.6 MP front facing camera. A 2000 mAh battery runs the show on the device. The Redmi 1s runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with the MIUI skin on top. On the connectivity front, there’s Dual SIM, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and GPS.
At Rs. 6,999, the Redmi 1s is unmatchable. It competes with the likes of Moto E and other local players but if the specs are anything to go by, it should beat them quite easily. The device is expected to go on sale in India soon and it’ll be available in various color options.
