Idea Cellular has launched its ‘Gold Standard’ 3G services in Eastern Uttar Pradesh. The service is already up and running in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh West and Kerala. Now cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, Allahabad, Jhansi, Sitapur and Azamgarh will be 3G-ed. Services will include Video Conferencing, Video on Demand, Mobile TV, IdeaMall and high-speed Internet. Also, Idea has set up ‘Experience Kiosks’ to help customers to get an experience of the 3G services.
The launch saw Mr. Lakshminarayana, Chief Operating Officer – Corporate, Idea Cellular who said, “We are happy to flag off the Gold Standard 3G services in UP East. Mobile users can now get experiential tour of our 3G services at special ‘Experience Kiosks’ in select Idea outlets. We plan to expand our 3G network in industrial and commercial regions, centres of learning, and high potential rural hinterlands where broadband is yet to make a breakthrough.”
