Just today we heard reports about HTC winning the bid for the Nexus 10. Now another source claims that a Nexus tablet could be launched as early as April.
According to sources, Asus is currently working on an 8 inch Nexus tablet that had surfaced in rumours way back last year. The Nexus 8 tablet is expected to be announced at the end of April and is expected to ship just around 2 million units globally. Sources claim that the tablet would have almost the same specs as the Nexus 7 (2013 Edition) but with just an additional inch of display.
One major reason for Google’s fascination for 8 inch devices is the clutter in the 7 inch segment. Google has clearly decided to move past the 7 inchers towards the 8 inch segment, where the competition is low. Also, sources believe that the company is visibly disappointed with the sales of the Nexus 7 (2013 Edition). Could this mean that the end of the Nexus series is imminent?
