HMD Global has launched a few smartphones at its MWC 2019 event today but the most affordable among them is the Nokia 1 Plus. The smartphone is powered by Android Pie (Go Edition) and costs $99. The phone is a successor of the Nokia 1 Android Go device launched last year at MWC.
The Nokia 1 Plus features a 5.45-inch FWVGA+ IPS display which is bigger compared to a 4.5-inch FWVGA screen in the predecessor. Under the hood, the phone is powered by MediaTek MT6739 SoC with 1GB of RAM.
It comes with 8GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot that further expands the phone’s storage capacity up to 128GB. In the camera department, it has an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calling.
As mentioned above, the Nokia 1 Plus runs Android 9.0 Pie (Go Edition) operating system which is designed to run smoothly on entry-level smartphones having lower hardware configuration. Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, USB OTG. The phone is fuelled by a 2500mAh battery.
The Nokia 1 Plus will be available in three color options, which include Red, Black, and Blue. Priced at $99, the smartphone will be available for purchase from next month.
