Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi is going to launch the Mi MIX 2S later this month on March 27. The Mi MIX 2S will be successor to the Mi MIX 2 that was launched last year. And, going by the rumors that have been floating around on the Internet, this smartphone will come powered by Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 845 chip. Well, Xiaomi is also expected to launch the Mi 7 this year, and, a Xiaomi smartphone with codename ‘Dipper’ has just appeared on a benchmarking site which is said to be the Mi 7.
A Xiaomi smartphone with codename Dipper has appeared on Geekbench revealing some of its specifications. According to the Geekbench listing, the Xiaomi Dipper is powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC which is paired with 6 GB RAM and is running Android 8.0 Oreo.
The phone also scored 2449 and 8309 points in Geekbench’s single and multi-core tests respectively. There aren’t a whole lot of details available right now about the Xiaomi Dipper which is said to be the Mi 7, but, it’s expected to feature a 6.01-inch display that will have aspect ratio of 18:9 and probably a notch up top – because that’s the trend right now.
Furthermore, the Mi 7 is also expected to feature in-display fingerprint scanner which means we won’t be seeing the traditional scanner on the Mi 7’s front below the display or at the back.
That said, while Xiaomi has confirmed the launch of Mi MIX 2S on March 27, there’s no word from the company yet regarding the launch of Mi 7. But, past reports suggest that we should expect Xiaomi to unveil the Mi 7 later in June this year.
