HMD Global – the official licensee for Nokia brand of phones – announced five new phones at a pre-MWC event on Sunday in Barcelona, Spain. Out of these five phones, four are Android smartphones and one is a feature phone. While HMD Global did reveal all the details of these phones during the announcement, including its global average price, it didn’t reveal when these phones would be launched in India. However, after the event, a senior HMD Global executive did reveal when these phones will reach Indian shores.
In a chat with Gadgets 360, Ajey Mehta – Vice President India – HMD Global, said that out of the five phones announced, the first one to come to India will be the Nokia 1. The Nokia 1 will be launched in India sometime in April.
After Nokia 1, HMD Global will bring the new Nokia 6 (which is the Nokia 6 2018) to India, however, the company will initially only launch the 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage variant in the country, with the 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage variant slated to launch in India at the end of May or beginning of June.
Moving on, the Nokia 8 Sirocco, which is the flagship amongst all Nokia phones announced, will be launched in India in May as well, and, the Nokia 7 Plus will then come to India at the end of May or beginning of June.
Lastly, HMD Global will launch the Nokia 8110 4G – a VoLTE-enabled feature phone – in India in July or later.
Of course, these aren’t the exact launch dates, but we do get an idea of when to expect these Nokia phones in India. That said, the India price of these phones is still unknown, but that’s something we will know once HMD Global makes these phones official in India.
Having said that, out of all these Nokia phones that HMD Global announced, which one do you like the most? Well, we personally like the Nokia 8110 4G – because nostalgia.
